Brinkburn, still one of my favourite wedding venues to shoot at. No matter what the weather, the amazing priory and old house offer a sensational backdrop to any celebration. This wedding was full of laughs from the very minute I arrived with Lindsay and her bridal party and we literally didn’t stop laughing until the next day. We were lucky enough to meet some lovely people on the day, which always help add to an already awesome atmosphere.
Here are a few of our favourite images from Lindsay and Jon’s big day…
2015, well, that came and went in a flash. What a year. Testing, tough, fun, revitalising and diverse. The last twelve months have seen me go through a massive transition in my life, fighting personal battle, dealing with ill health and learning how to accept things that I cannot change, but impact the things I can. I’ve had the most fulfilling year I remember, I’ve achieved so many personal goals, overcome some adversity and came into 2016 a much stronger person.
I’ve been lucky enough to capture some of the most amazing weddings I’ve ever attended, meet some people who have become good friends but best of all I’ve done it alongside my Dad -Alex. Thanks for all of your help once again this year Dadio, more than ever you’ve been the inspiration, the drive and the sense to my crazy mind!
So without babbling on a whole lot more, here are some of my favourite images from our 2015 weddings…
It’s always a pleasure to shoot the wedding of another photographer (David in the case) and to try to capture something a little bit different for them too. David & Kath married in the very beautiful Sunderland Minster in the City Centre before heading across to the Sage at Gateshead and then onto Gateshead Old Town Hall. It was a very beautiful day with a lovely golden sun and a light breeze to keep the heat off. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day…
Special thanks to Colin & Alec for their assistance..

I think I may run out of superlatives for this wedding so please bear with me…. What a day, what a beautifully relaxed wedding amongst lovely families, awesome friends and a spectacular setting. When I met Kirsty and Sean at Goldsborough Hall for their pre-wedding shoot, I was absolutely blown away with it as a wedding venue, and that was a very rainy summers day. Fast forward to yesterday and the sunshine was breaking the pavements, and this majestic building sat perfectly nestled in the quiet village. From the minute I arrived (7.35am) with Kirsty and the rest of the bridesmaids I got the sense of how relaxed this day was going to be, and it continued in perfect fashion….. Special thanks to Alec once again for his assisting skills…
Dodging rain and golf balls… I could summarise the wedding of this lovely couple with that phrase. However, a far more fitting description would be; A relaxing and beautiful wedding. Jonathan and Kathleen tied the knot at a lovely church with plenty of natural light in Durham before heading up through some winding roads to Slaley Hall, set in the gorgeous Northumberland countryside. The day was jam-packed with happy people, fun times and lots of love. Here are a few of my favourites from the day….

So Friday saw us hosting our first location Fashion Photography Workshop at Bede’s World in Jarrow. We enlisted the help of some of our favourite models to ensure that our attendees experienced some of the best models that the North East has to offer.
We literally shot from 10.30 through to 5pm and I for one was exhausted at the end. Steph O’Neill our hairstylist and Make up Artist Holy Moulden produced awesome looks with some clothing from Chic Unique.
Here are a few images from the day along with some diagrams on the lighting we used.
I first met Libby & Chris at a wedding fayre up at Vallum Farm a couple of years ago when I was exhibiting and giving a talk about photography. They got in touch a few months later and started telling me about the amazing day they had planned; tying the knot on the Grand staircase in the Civic Centre followed by the reception at the Northern Stage on the Newcastle University Campus….. It sounded awesome….and it was!!
I do love a more urban venue to capture something a little different and out of the ordinary and I wasn’t disappointed! There was so much so capture, take in and unlimited possibilities with photographs we could take. This was an amazing day to be part of, with two lovely families and a very fun group of friends!

It’s about time that the British Summer made an appearance, and thankfully for Nicola & John it happened yesterday….
St Paul’s Church in Jarrow is one of my favourite settings to shoot in the sunshine, the archway created by the line of trees down the 200 yard approach from the road is spectacular in high sun. The speckles of light find their way through the breaks in the leaves, the mix of greens in the foliage make for a beautiful view.
This lovely couple tied the knot at St Paul’s before heading onto the Quality Hotel in Boldon to enjoy the rest of the day. Here are a few of my favourites……
What a lovely day to be involved with. Seriously. I mean I often say that I’ve enjoyed myself shooting weddings, but this was just a laugh a minute, surrounded by great characters, fantastic stories and lovely people. Jess & Jack tied the knot at the very picturesque All Saints Church in Cleadon before heading on down to the coast for some photographs around the beach at Haven Point. Here are a few of my favourites from the day (and believe me it was hard to narrow it down to just these……)
